Genaro Network: The Metaverse and Decentralized Storage

The Link Between the Metaverse and Decentralized Storage
As a dual-architecture ecosystem with an emphasis on smart data, Genaro Network is committed to the development of a distributed cloud storage solution for developers. Genaro Network has made the headlines lately with its brand-new strategic collaborations with HyperVerse, and both companies will work closely together to build a metaverse based on Web 3.0. Just what exactly is the metaverse, and how can it be linked to decentralized storage?

The term metaverse can be traced back to Neal Stephenson and his dystopian cyberpunk novel Snow Crash. The metaverse in Snow Crash was a 3D virtual reality space accessed through personal terminals and virtual reality goggles. In recent days, the movie Ready Player One, released back in 2018, along with the science fiction comedy-drama television series Upload that was released in 2020 has given the public a glimpse of what it may be like for humans to live within the metaverse. By equipping oneself with the right equipment, such as VR helmets, body haptic feedback suits, and exercise equipment, one can taste gourmet food, drive sports cars, or live in a grand mansion within a virtual reality world.

Many users believe that the metaverse is an always-online decentralized virtual world with a fully comprehensive economy, where an unlimited number of users can come together to socialize, play, create, trade, or engage in a number of social activities. Simply put, the metaverse is a convenient and fully immersive experience, where users are free to create in a safe and secure space, and enjoy the wonders of a functional economic system.

What does a metaverse based on Web 3.0 look like? Let us first go back to a metaverse based on Web 2.0 — currencies farmed within the MMORPG World of Warcraft cannot be transferred to Roblox; the same goes for all gaming equipment, pets, or weapons from World of Warcraft. The reason for this is simple — both games are created by different companies, and there is no way to initiate a bridge between these two games for asset interoperability. In contrast, a metaverse based on Web 3.0 will link all the virtual worlds together, and sending items from Roblox to World of Warcraft will be as simple as walking from the front of your house to your backyard. Genaro Network is committed to the development of a metaverse based on Web 3.0, which will have crucial demands for data storage and user privacy.

Web 3.0 Metaverse and Decentralized Storage
Virtual reality within a metaverse consists of a large amount of data, which may be compounded by data contributed by the influx of millions of users, along with their online creations. All these means that the amount of data required for a Web 3.0 metaverse is astronomical, which necessitates the presence of an efficient and reliable storage network; think about it — if users cannot trust the safety of their in-game assets, the value of items within the metaverse would surely plummet. Once the relevant meta-data has been proven to be tamper-able, the metaverse becomes a fun, yet meaningless world with no relevant economical value.

When we talk about CryptoPunks, we can trust that it can serve as a representation of our digital identity due to it being safely stored on the Ethereum network. The same thing must apply to any in-world assets within the metaverse. If users cannot trust the security of data storage, they will surely be reticent about spending any money on these items. No one wants their conversations, memories, etc. with their friends in the metaverse to be permanently lost because of storage problems. To keep up with the storage demand driven by the combination of Web 3.0 and the metaverse, Genaro Network will provide a secure, open, transparent and reliable storage network.

The efficient cloud storage technology of the Genaro Network can meet the growing demand for data storage on the metaverse, and effectively ensure the security and efficiency of data storage. In 2022, the project looks forward to the continued development of the metaverse. Anticipating an explosive growth in the demand for decentralized storage, Genaro Network will continue to improve upon its business model to ensure that it remains the top leader in the decentralized storage space.
